My story
“sorry, I don't want to have noodles today”
Sitting at the dinner table one evening, my parents prepared a delicious bowl of noodles for me. I have always been a bit cautious about consuming noodle since I've been meticulously counting calories every day. But there was something special about this meal – it was a family tradition.Yet, because I was on a diet, I told my dad I don't want noodles at night. This decision made my dad worry that my pursuit of beauty standards might break a cherished family tradition.
For a while, my dad couldn't quite understand why I was being so strict. But then, a moment of realization hit me like a ton of bricks – food isn't just about calories; it's a reflection of culture, a symbol of unity. My dad would sprinkle chili peppers on top of noodles, while my mom lovingly added a fried egg. Everyone had their own favorite toppings and seasonings. Eating salad while my family eating noodles at the table, I realized something in their laughter: Noodles are not just something to be measured in calories; it has deeper, more profound meanings.
At first, I simply saw noodles as a source of calories to be counted and controlled, but as I delved deeper into the significance of our family tradition, I realized it represented the unbreakable bond that ties us together. The worth of these things transcends the physical aspects. This revelation changed my perspective entirely. I began to view food from a different angle: a representation of the connections between people. It was no longer about the type of food on my plate, it was about the moments we shared, the love we poured into each meal, and the values of our family gatherings. In the end, I understood that no matter what we eat, it's the invisible ties and shared experiences that truly matter. Food is a bridge for creating cherished memories, celebrating traditions, and nurturing relationships that go beyond cultures and humanities.
And thus, this is what motivates me to initiate this website.
